WANTTTTT

Apr 15, 2010 Author: Kristina | Filed under: gaming, thoughts

While I’m getting everything together at my new home, I feel like blogging. Aren’t you lucky?

Lately I been wanting to buy several games, mostly motion stuff for my Wii. There’s several things I want to get for my 360, especially since I now have XBL & have to rebuild my achievements after losing them (good bye a year’s worth of playing :( ). Anyway, I’m looking forward to these titles coming out this year:

Halo REACH
Alan Wake
Fallout New Vegas
Lego Harry Potter

I also want to get these:

Super Paper Mario
Rainbow Six Vegas (to make up for the copy I gave to someone lol)
any game that requires use of motion boards.

I want to use my Wii for exclusive Nintendo games (how can you not love the classics?) and moving around while the 360 will remain for sitting on the couch. The whole point of the Wii is to not be sitting down (aware that getting a Mario Bro. game defeats the purpose, but hell I love those plumbers). I’ve done a few things on Wii Sports and actually work a sweat. I’m trying to lose weight & found that moving around the room with the Wiimote is more fun than following a cardio program. Exercise should be fun, not feel like a chore.

Eventually a PS3 will join my 360 & Wii, but I’m not in any rush to get one now. The 360 is only a year old & the Wii is not even 3 weeks old. Besides, I’m hoping that at E3 Sony will release a PS4 or a lowered priced PS3. Wishful thinking, perhaps, but a girl can dream can’t she

A Bachelorette Party & ODST

This weekend was a friend of mine’s bachelorette party. And it seems for whatever reason yesterday was the day that people thought they ask about my love life or who they wanted to match me up with. Rather annoying.

And on an unrelated note, I purchased Halo 3 ODST. I have this weird fear about first person shooters (as in my heart starts racing fast and I start just shooting everything in sight), but I’m trying to get over that. It’s weird cause I can play GTA Chinatown Wars without a problem but I can’t get into GTA IV. There’s a loose screw in that somewhere.

E3 2009 Thoughts

So I spent yesterday & today watching Microsoft. Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Nintendo, & Sony press conferences on G4. And I have to say I was somewhat impressed with the announcements, other than Nintendo (seriously, that was the one press conference I was looking forward to). I’m looking forward to:

Tony Hawk Ride
Rabbids Go Home
Left 4 Dead 2
Halo Reach
Alan Wake
Agent
Dead Space Extraction
Super Mario Bros Wii

I just wish that Sony would realize that just cause the rest of the world buys a PS3 like candy doesn’t mean us Americans are so quick to drop the cash. I’m sorry but I will NOT spend $249.99 for a PSP Go! no matter how cool or how many options it gives for it’s owners to use. I can buy a Nintendo DSi with 2 games and money left over or even a Wii with the same amount of money. I got my PS2 used with 3 games for $50. I wouldn’t be surprised that the price is what keeping Sony for being the bestselling console. The graphics on it are amazing, but not for that price. Just no…

Crazy Times

Apr 8, 2009 Author: Kristina | Filed under: gaming, thoughts

Due to the past week’s events, I haven’t been wanting to play anything. Think what separates me from “hardcore” gamers is that I go into up/down phases. Sometimes I don’t play for weeks, and other times I will play for hours for a few days. It’s like a zone. I’m still in the middle of my enjoyment of playing Grand Theft Auto but due to recent news events I haven’t want to go off and shoot virtual gang members. I wouldn’t say it’s art imitating life, but it sure feels like it.

Just seems that I can’t watch the news without hearing about some mass shooting or police stand-off. It’s an eerie feeling to play something that in real life is irreversible. I can’t play GTA around my mother because she get disgusted hearing the sound effects of the game, especially if I shoot a virtual cop. But I tell her I’m not really wanting to do it, but it’s part of the gameplay (I don’t want to get busted and the police taking my money!). Tried playing other things like SSX Tricky (finally unlocked all the characters) but just didn’t satisfy the need to play.

I wish there was a nice plugin to display gamertags for WordPress. Can someone offer that option please?

Website… Where???

After waiting close to 8 months I can finally play this. Now I have to get a much needed wireless router so that I can take advantage of the bonuses and the WiFi option on my DS. The reviews have been high, but I’m my own critic and so far I’m very impressed.

This means that I’ll be sinking myself even more in the game and avoiding paying less attention to this site for the time being.

Yeah to stealing car and meaningless violence that comes from video games :)
